There is only one required textbook for the course, and it is available at the GMU bookstore. Click on the Articles tab above to access the other reading materials for the course. You can either use an existing Google/Gmail I.D. or make a Blogger I.D. Let me know if you have any difficulty and I can help.
Please write a test post in the reply below so I can make sure the blog is working for everyone. It would be best if your test post was some kind of question or comment about the course syllabus. Read it carefully! I will give everyone a printed copy on the first day of class, but for now here is the 9:00 version and the 10:30 version.
Hi, I just finished reading the course syllabus and I'm excited for the class. It seems like this course is going to be challenging but interesting!-Amanda
ReplyDeleteThis course sounds interesting. I am looking forward to a great semester!

Working for me! -Rachel S.
ReplyDeleteAfter watching the short video in class, I'm hungry for some chicken nuggets now...
ReplyDeleteSo the syllabus outlines the homework due for that class period?...Not what will be completed in class?
ReplyDeleteRachel, good question. If the homework says February 21, it needs to be done before class starts on February 21.
ReplyDeletehope this works

ReplyDeleteWhy can't I view the articles posted as " Read/Economics" on the Doc. Sheet? Oh and testing :)
ReplyDeleteIs anyone having trouble viewing the articles even after they have a doc. account on google?

ReplyDeleteAwid... the items on the spreadsheet are not linked; click "Articles" at the top of the blog to view them. If the viewer is misbehaving, try downloading them to PDF.

ReplyDeleteChecking everything out.
ReplyDeleteAlternate email address is dbal82@comcast.net. Also I am still waiting on my books to be shipped from my home in PA.
ReplyDeleteWhen it comes to signing up for a scene analysis and an article analysis, I got the impression that we were supposed to pick one either scene or article for the first paper and another for the second paper from the two different cut- off points, (i.e. can I sign up for my scene analysis from 32-46 and my article analysis from 16-46, or do they need to meet the cut off point to work with the first draft guidelines and so forth? If that is the case, it is impossible to fill that accordingly on the sign up sheet.
ReplyDeleteHello,
ReplyDeleteThank you for the link in the email.
Just to make sure I'm all caught up for Monday's class:
I've printed out the
-syllabus
-scene analysis worksheet
-scene analysis example
-the survey
-McMillan's "Heroism and the Police Procedural"
-I'd like my associated email to be: priscaykim@gmail.com
-I'll be watching episodes of The Wire over the weekend
-I'd like to sign up for SA Worksheet 35 and AA Worksheet 13
The only questions I have are about the scene and article analysis worksheets. It says on the syllabus schedule that worksheets 1-7 should be done by the 31st-I can't seem to find the links for these. I think I might be confused.
phew. I hope this is everything.
I have two other classes on Monday but I can come by your office to make sure I'm caught up on everything after 2:30pm. Will you be available then?
test.
